VPS stands for virtual private serving. This means the customer rents part of the resources of a physical server. This allows multiple customers to use the resources of the same server with maximum security, minimal setup costs  and no hardware investment.

VPS allows high flexibility in resources through the use of the esxi hypervisor. Customers start of with virtual servers custom fit for the curent need and expand the resources as the need arises.
